Understanding the identity loop
You are not stuck; you are just repeating. Discover the cycle that keeps you recreating the same life and learn how to break free.

What is the identity loop?
The identity loop is the cycle where you keep recreating the same life because you keep being the same version of yourself. Your identity—how you see yourself, what you believe about yourself, and how you expect things to go—drives your thoughts, emotions, and actions. These thoughts and actions then create your results, which reinforce your identity. So it goes like this:
Who you believe you are → how you think & act → what you experience → which confirms who you believe you are.
And the loop continues.
This is why people feel stuck. Not because they cannot change, but because they are trying to change their life while still being the same person internally. It is important to understand this because once you see the loop, you realise: you are not stuck; you are just repeating. The moment you shift your identity, even slightly, you interrupt that cycle. From there, new thoughts, new actions, and new results start to appear, because you are no longer operating from the same version.

Who gets caught in this loop?
The people who get caught in the identity loop are often the ones who are actually trying the hardest to change. They are usually self-aware and reflective, interested in growth or personal development, and constantly thinking about how to improve their life. But despite all of that, they feel stuck.
Who they are:
- Over thinkers who analyse everything but struggle to act differently.
- People who have tried multiple methods but nothing “sticks”.
- Those who know their patterns but cannot seem to break them.
- Individuals who feel like they are living below their potential.
The struggles they face:
- Repeating the same patterns: They keep ending up in the same situations—relationships, habits, emotions—even when they know better.
- Feeling stuck despite effort: They try to change, but always get pulled back into the familiar version of themselves.
- Internal conflict: Part of them wants to grow, but another part keeps them in old behaviours. It feels like a constant push and pull.
- Self-doubt.

Escaping the identity loop with Michelle Millen
Most methods try to help people change what they do. My approach changes who they are being. That is the difference.
Why other methods do not fully work:
People often talk about their problems, analyse their past, or try to change habits through effort. But they are still operating from the same identity, so they get pulled back into the same loop. They understand the problem, but they do not shift it.
How my approach is different:
I do not keep you in analysis. I do not give you scripts to follow. I work with you in the moment, intuitively, to bring awareness to the identity you are currently operating from, show you exactly how that is creating your patterns, and shift you into a new version of yourself during the session. You do not just talk about change; you experience it.
Why this breaks the identity loop:
The identity loop only continues if you keep being the same version of yourself. When you shift identity, your thoughts change, your reactions change, and your decisions change.
"This is why I have been stuck, and this is how I change it."
The key takeaway: You do not need more effort, you need a shift in who you are being.
